Presence for Christmas: A CCSJ Initiative

For over 20 years, the Loyola community has joined together to provide Christmas gifts to children, women, and men from our partner organizations around Baltimore. We invite you to participate in this longstanding tradition, known as Presence for Christmas. We appreciate the generosity of those who have already registered to sponor! Registration closes on Friday, and we still need volunteers for many more sponsees:

  • Of Children from great organizations like the Growing Minds after-school program in Park Heights, the Esperanza Center for providing services to immigrants, and the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. Sponsorship is simple:
    1. sign-up online
    2. shop for a gift (we provide age-appropriate suggestions)
    3. drop it off (in Campus Ministry by December 7th)
  • Of adults from the Home Connections program at Beans and Bread. The program’s “housing first” model places individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness. Now, with homes of their own and supportive case management services, these individuals are able to gain independence and stability. We ask that each adult sponsor donates a $25 Wal-Mart gift card, a picture frame, a small set of cleaning supplies, and a pair of movie tickets. These simple gifts are tremendously meaningful to those in Home Connections, who take pride in the opportunity to decorate and clean their new homes.  When you register online, you’ll receive the name of your sponsee and a instructions for shopping & drop-off on campus!
Would you share holiday joy with your neighbors by registering or donating?
