ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED; HOWEVER, WALK-UPS ARE WELCOME!

Support Catholic Charities' St. Nicholas Project Shopping Day by volunteering on Saturday, Dec. 15. Last year, the St. Nicholas Project helped more than 4,000 of the New York area's most vulnerable individuals and families receive coats, hats, gloves, blankets, and other essential items to help keep them warm throughout the winter season.

Although volunteers are welcome between the hours of 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m, Loyola volunteers are scheduled to work from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. We'll be performing a variety of tasks which are explained below. Afterwards, all volunteers are welcome to join us for food and drinks at a nearby restaurant/bar.

*All items are purchased with previously donated funds. Donations are welcome but not required.

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Shoppers: shop for items of necessity and check out at specified registers
  • Baggers: put items of necessity into bags, attach family profile to bag, put black bag with profile into 2nd clear bag, tie, send off to trucks
  • Runners: bring items from check-out area to the trucks and vans outside of Kmart
Check-Out identify which bags are loaded into trucks
  • Bag Loaders and Un-Loaders: load all bags into trucks, vans, cars at Kmart, then unload all items at 1011 1st Ave (Archdiocese Offices)
